About Me

Hello, I’m Danny.

I’m originally from Warrington in the north west of England, but for the last few years I've been living in Szczecin, Poland with my girlfriend and our ginger dog Amik.

I've been an English tutor for over 7 years now, teaching online to people from all over the world. It certainly keeps things interesting! Before this, I studied Psychology at the University of Nottingham, Counselling and my first degree was in fact Television Production.

My approach as a tutor:

I help people to speak more naturally and confidently by creating a relaxed, engaging, and meaningful learning environment. Whether you want to build confidence, expand your vocabulary, or improve your professional communication, I tailor each lesson to your specific needs.

I believe people learn best when they feel comfortable and involved. My approach focuses on clear communication and critical thinking, combining language development with practical, real-world skills.

I support students in areas such as:

  • building confidence and fluency, (and reducing communication anxiety)
  • preparing for job interviews and career transitions, (CV writing too!)
  • becoming a better English speaker in both formal and informal settings
  • expanding vocabulary and refining their grammar
  • exam prep
  • adapting to life in English-speaking countries
  • developing small talk and conversational skills

In our first session, we’ll explore how you currently use English, the challenges you face, and what you want to improve. It’s not just an assessment, it’s a focused conversation about your goals and how we can build a plan that works for you.

After the lesson, I’ll send you detailed feedback along with clear next steps. I create my own materials, but everything is tailored around you and your progress.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • personalised lessons and resources, including targeted vocabulary, grammar, and conversation topics, often with a critical thinking element to keep things engaging
  • a psychology-informed approach, creating a calm space where you can practise without pressure
  • ongoing corrections and clear explanations during lessons, followed by more detailed feedback afterwards
